Hi friends,
This week we’re sharing how to make Sour Patch Kids- our version of the sugar-covered candy, with large knuckle-like heads, and happy expressions.
2024 is just about over, it’s also when I start planning for the upcoming family birthdays. Our first birthday of the year will be a Sour Patch Kids theme. Since there isn’t much in stores with this theme, we’ll use these fun paper crafts and larger poster-sized “candy” kids to decorate. Check out the Sour Patch Kids below.

DRAW
If you’re making more than one character, stack the papers and draw a huge fist about 1/3 of the page with the white pencil.
Draw thick arms, a rounded belly, and thick legs.
Trace the character with the pencil again, pressing down firmly to leave an imprint on the bottom layers.
Repeat the steps for the eyes, tracing 2 different round items to create the inner and outer parts.
COLOR
Use a similar colored pencil or marker(more visible) to fill in the eyes and draw the mouth.
Repeat the coloring for the other characters.
GLUE
Brush the Mod Podge or thinned glue over the character and sprinkle the glitter over it. Repeat with the other characters.
Let the character dry for about 15 -20 minutes before brushing the last layer of glue to seal the glitter.
CUT
Outline the lines of the body, eyes, and mouth again with the white pencil or white marker(more visible) before cutting out the Sour Patch Kid.
That’s it!
Micah chose these colors.
These came out so cute and I can’t wait to make larger ones for the party decor.
Happy crafting
Amanda and Naomi
