Hi friends,
We’re sharing our easy, budget-friendly Valentine’s decor. We purchased a heart bowl and decorative round piece from 99 Cents Only Stores to create 3 looks: neutral, contrasting, and floral. The possibilities are endless with this DIY Valentine’s decor, with just a switch of bowl, paint color, and materials used. These hearts work great for Mom’s day gifts or decor. Check out our Valentine’s decor below.

What You'll Need
Decorative Wall Sign or Wood Hanging Round
Heart Bowl
Permanent Glue
Rose Gold Craft Paint & Brush
Twine
Scissors
Optional: Hot Glue, Other Craft Paints, Flowers, Cardboard Heart Cutout
The Steps
NEUTRAL HEART
Pull the heart piece off or create one from cardboard if your sign does not have one.
Remove any stickers or tags from the items and the ribbon/string attached.
Paint a thick border around your wood piece in rose gold or your color of choice and set it aside to dry.
4. Cover the heart with glue(I used hot glue, but permanent works as well) and twine.
5. Once the paint is dry add the original ribbon, twine, or material of choice to hang the round. Skip this step for the contrasting/floral hearts.
6. Add glue to the rim of the heart bowl, center it on the wood round, and place something heavy on top for a few minutes to help it adhere.
7. Glue your twine heart to the plastic heart. Skip this step for the contrasting/floral hearts.
That’s it!
CONTRASTING HEART
Follow all the steps for the neutral heart, minus gluing the twine heart & adding the hanging twine.
Paint your heart black or another contrasting color.
Fold a long piece of twine in half and glue the double twine from the bottom of the heart around the edge of the base. When you reach the starting point, cut the excess with one end of the twine a little longer to create a similar loop as the opposite side.
Glue the contrasting heart onto the bowl.
Add the original ribbon, twine, or material of choice to hang the round.
That’s it!
FLORAL HEART
Follow all the steps for the neutral & contrasting hearts minus gluing the twine heart & adding the hanging twine.
Paint your heart rose gold, another color, or as we did black followed by rose gold.
Use *artificial flowers, greenery, berries, and hot glue to the left, right, or all around.
Glue the painted heart onto the plastic heart.
Add the original ribbon, twine, or material of choice to hang the round.
That’s it!
*purchased previously from Dollar Tree, Walmart, Hobby Lobby
We started with the neutral heart and built upon that to get to the floral one. The decor looks great on the wall, your front door, or even as a table centerpiece without the string attached.
Happy crafting!
