The Steps

This week, we bring you the Brick and Question Blocks. We used party plates again, but this time craft paper and poster board too.

The littles were so excited to see the newest SUPER MARIO crafts we made and have them on their wall as well.

Question Block

  1. Trace your plate onto the poster board and cut it out.

Optional- want to skip the strips? Paint the question on instead.

2. Trace your ruler onto the white paper 2-3 times depending on the direction of your paper.

3. Cut and list the pieces.

(1) 3 1/2 inch strip and write A on it.

(1) 3 inch strip E

(2) 2 inch strips C

(1) 1 1/2 inch strip B

(5) 1 inch strips D

4. For the bolts- trace the cap of the glue stick onto the poster board 4x, color them in, shade 1 edge darker on each, and cut out.

**Gluing the pieces can be a little tricky. Place them in order and glue the center sections only, to stablize them, then go back after everything is in place and glue the edges.

5.Place all the pieces in order, as shown in the photo, letters facing down, and then glue everything to the yellow paper.

6. Glue the bolts on each corner with the darker shading at the top.

That’s it!

Brick Block

  1. With your ruler measure and cut out 2 inch wide strips, and 3-4 depending on the direction of your paper.

  2. Cut and list the piecies:

(2) 5 1/2 inch strips A

(4) 4 1/2 inch strips B

(2) 2-inch strips C

(2) 1-inch strips D

3. Arrange your bricks as shown in the photo, glue, and repeat with the next level.

Optional- on the last row switch the position of C & D

That’s it!

These came out nicely!

Have you seen the new Super Mario Bros Legos?! They’re interactive and have scannable codes for further play on the app : 0

These are NOT like any Legos we’ve ever gotten or played with. Matthias got blessed with a set and enough money for a second!

The littles love their new room!

Happy crafting!

Amanda and Naomi
