Mario Bros Blocks, DIY Mario Bros Decor, Mario Bros Party, Cheap Crafts, Dollar Tree Crafts, Party Plate Crafts

Hi friends,

We’re back with our second SUPER MARIO craft! Last week we shared how to make 2 different power ups, the Fire Flower and the Super Star. This week, we bring you the Brick and Question Blocks. We use party plates again but this time craft paper and poster board too. The littles were so excited to see the newest SUPER MARIO crafts we made and have them on their wall as well. Check out our easy blocks below and their wall at the end!

Question Block

  1. Yellow Poster Board

  2. White Craft Paper

  3. Square Plate/Box

Brick Block

  1. Black Square Party/Dinner Plate

  2. Brown Craft Paper

BOTH

  1. Pencil

  2. Ruler

  3. Scissors

  4. Glue Stick

The Steps

Question Block

  1. Trace your plate onto the poster board and cut it out.

Optional- skip the strips and paint the question on instead.

2. Trace your ruler onto the white paper 2-3 times depending on the direction of your paper.

3. Cut:

(1) 3 1/2 inch strip, (1) 3 inch strip, (2) 2 inch strips, (1) 1 1/2 inch strip, (5) 1 inch strips.

4. For the bolts- trace the cap of the glue stick onto the poster board 4x, color them in, shade 1 edge darker on each, and cut out.

**Gluing the pieces was a little tricky but worked best when positioned in order and only gluing them in the middle sections so we could layer them properly. Then going back to glue the edges down.

5.

a) Center and glue the 3 1/2” strip horizontally,

b) to the left glue the 1 1/2” strip vertically,

c) to the right glue the 2” strip vertically,

d) between the side and center sections, angle 1” strips and glue,

e) glue the 3” strip down directly across from the (a) strip and near the edge of the (c) strip and horizontally,

f) to the left and right sides of the (e) strip, angle 1” strips, and glue,

g) below the angled left 1” strip, glue the 2” strip vertically,

h) leave a space and glue down the last 1” strip horizontally.

6. Go back over any unglued edges and glue them down.

7. Glue the bolts on each corner with the darker shading at the top.

Brick Block

  1. With your ruler measure and cut out 2 inch wide strips, and 3-4 depending on the direction of your paper.

  2. Cut:

(2) 5 1/2 inch strips, (4) 4 1/2 inch strips, (2) 2-inch strips, (2) 1-inch strips

3. Arrange your bricks & glue:

(2) 4 1/2” strips,

(1) 2” strip, (1) 5 1/2” strip, (1) 1” strip

Repeat for the next 2 rows but swap the 1” & 2” strips on the last row.

That’s it!

These came out nicely!

Have you seen the new Super Mario Bros Legos?! They’re interactive and have scannable codes for further play on the app : 0

These are NOT like any Legos we’ve ever gotten or played with. Matthias got blessed with a set and enough money for a second!

The littles love their new room!

Happy crafting!

Amanda and Naomi
