Hi friends,
Valentines is very soon. Have you begun to decorate for the day or do you skip it? We typically decorate but keep it minimal and use lighter colors. We just haven’t found something in the store we HAVE to have, so we usually decorate with homemade crafts. Today’s garland uses mixed patterns, but can be made with any wrapping paper you or your kiddos like, and doesn’t have to be floral or Valentine’s themed. Check it out below and personalize one for yourself.

What You'll Need
(2)White Construction Sheets
(2 & 1/2) Pink Construction Sheets
Wrapping Paper
Scissors
Pencil
Glue Gun
Twine/String
The Steps
Turn the 2 *pink sheets horizontally and fold them in half.
Cut the 2 sheets in half.
*Any color can be used.
3. Turn the 5 halves horizontally and fold in half.
4. Draw a large heart starting from the fold and cut out.
5. Use that 1st heart as a guide for the next 4 hearts and cut out as well.
6. Unroll your wrapping paper and place your white sheet over it, to see how much will need to be used.
7. Add glue to the wrapping paper and place the white sheet over it. This is going to strengthen it.
8. Repeat for a 2nd sheet or the 2nd roll of paper and cut out.
9. Repeat steps 1-5 above for making the wrapping paper hearts.
10. Cut 6-7 feet of twine and tie or loop ends.
11. Create you heart pattern with a solid first and pattern next. Repeat until you end with a solid.
12. Add a strip of glue to the upper part of the heart and carefully lay the twine on it-leave about 1.5 inches of the end/loop out. Do Not Press- it’ll be too hot.
13. Move the heart and twine to the edge of your table, hold the outer edges of the twine and move the heart up and down to help press the twine into the glue.
14. Repeat with the remaining hearts.
That’s it!
Hang up the garland on a mantle or wall.
Happy crafting!
Amanda and Naomi!
