The Steps
I don’t know if you’ve had your 100 Days of School yet, but ours is really soon. The kids can dress up, gather 100 items, create different projects around the theme, and make crowns. I’m either really distracted or super crazy, for barely remembering the 100-day crown, needed in 1 DAY. Maybe a little of both!
So, for all you last-minute crafters, a fun crown for your kiddos and one for you, the “crazy” adult in their life! If they get to celebrate, you should too. Maybe it’ll get you some recognition for making it through ONE HUNDRED DAYS. Am I right?! So, go on out, get yourself a treat; you deserve it. And if you wear your crown out, the public will totally understand ; ).
PREP
Color your words, numbers, stones, and the crazy/messy hair(adult crown but kids can use it too). *You can color in the crown or leave white.
2. Glue plain paper or construction paper underneath the colored crown for reinforcement- I had extra crowns so just used those.
3. Make your own confetti with the hole punch or use premade confetti.
DECORATE
Glue the confetti to the peaks of the crown.
2. Glue jewels, beads, other confetti, foam beads, etc with glue or hot glue(better hold).
ASSEMBLE
Cut out the crown/s.
2. Use 1 sheet of construction paper and fold it horizontally to create a long, thin piece.
3. Cut the paper in half.
4. Fold 1 piece in 1/3’s and glue it together. Use the 2nd piece, fold in 1/3’s around the 1st piece, and glue the top flap down.
5. Tuck in the center piece and double wrap 1-2 rubber bands around them both.
6. Extend the center piece enough to fit the width of the head.
7. Hot glue the ends to the back of the crown or staple.
That’s it!
Micah- Yay to 100 days!
Mom-Yikes, those 100 days were rough! But, I love my little dude and we’ll survive the next school days too : )
Have a great 100th day of school and even better school days in the future.
Happy crafting!
Amanda and Naomi!
