Hi friends,
Today’s craft inspiration comes straight out of our teapot = ) Some of us have recently enjoyed hot lemon tea with honey; it soothes our throats and warms the body. While squeezing lemons I thought of the “easy peasy lemon squeezy” saying and chuckled because squeezing the lemons weren’t so “easy peasy”. I had to wash 1st, slice most of the peel/rind off, cut into smaller portions, and then squeeze with the lemon squeezer.
But what if we showed 2 lemons “squeezing” for a sweet twist? That’s easy peasy! This cute valentine takes a little effort and no lemony mess. But if you’d like, you can make it scented with lemon juice or rind! It also works for many other celebrations by switching out the person at the bottom and the phrase on the inside. Check out our valentines below.

What You'll Need
Construction Paper (white, yellow, lt. green, dk. green, pink/red)
Pencil
Markers
Scissors
Glue
Small Round Cup
Optional: Lemon juice/rind
The Steps
Fold your white paper in half. Set aside.
Trace 2 circles on the yellow paper with the wider end or 1 large & 1 small.
At the top and bottom of each lemon, draw rounded peaks. Erase the line under each peak.
Cut out the lemons.
5. Draw and cut out 1-2 leaves per lemon from the dark green paper.
6. Draw and cut out arms/fingers:
Same-sized lemons- draw 1 outer arm per lemon and 1 set of fingers per lemon. Not shown
Different-sized lemons- draw 1 outer arm and 1 set of fingers for the larger lemon, draw 2 smaller arms for the smaller lemon. Shown above
7. Draw and cut 2 sets of legs/feet in the same size or 1 smaller & 1 larger.
8. Fold your pink or red paper in half, draw half a heart, and cut out.
9. Turn your paper horizontally and begin to glue your lemons down, leaving a space at the bottom and sides for the arms/legs.
Same-sized lemon- glue side by side.
Different-sized lemons- overlap the smaller one slightly.
10. Glue the leaves, outer arms, fingers, and legs for larger lemons(same -sized). Glue the leaves, outer arm, and legs on the larger lemon and the leaves, 2 arms, legs, and fingers on the outer side of the smaller lemon.
11. Draw the faces and write in pencil (if you choose)/marker:
“It’s easy peasy lemon squeezy” at the top, at the bottom write “being your friend”
or mom, dad, son, daughter, student, teacher, etc.
12. Lastly, write, “Happy Valentine’s Day!” on the inside or an alternative message for a different occasion like Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Birthday, Teacher Appreciation Day, or a simple Thank You.
That’s it!
To make these scented: try one of these a) squeeze some lemon juice into a cup and brush carefully around the face, avoid the marker b) grate some lemon peel and apply to the face with thinned out glue, avoid the marker.
To create a gift- for the lemon lover include any of these: lemon bars, lemon cookies, lemon meringue pie, a lemonade kit- small basket with a sugar-filled mason jar, lemons, and mixing spoon, or a lemon snack pack- lemon/lime flavored chips, cookies, soda, and gum lol
Happy crafting!
