Hi friends,
Did you survive the time change? It’s a common practice in most of the US.
You know, like adjusting the clocks hours before bedtime, going to bed at the “new” hour, and actually transitioning better than most? Ya, we didn’t either. We changed the clocks and still went to bed late lol Anyone else want their hour back? A nap would have been nice this weekend, but it just wasn’t meant to be. Instead, we enjoyed a simple craft using our fists. It was part protest and part submission to the “Spring Forward” time change. HA. These cute clovers bring a little St. Patty’s cheer, require minimal effort and use a bit of wordplay. = ) We even show you an option for making a garland with this craft. EASY, right?!
I’d say this was pretty CLOVER 😉

What You'll Need
Black/White Construction Paper
Pencil
Paintbrushes
Green, Black & White Craft Paint
Paint Tray or Disposable Plate
optional: Wipes/Rag, Twine, Clothespins
The Steps
You’ll be using both fists to make each leaf.
Pour some green paint onto your tray/plate and spread around.
With the side of your fist rub your hand in the paint.
On either white/black paper, decide where you’ll place your leaf and press your TIGHTENED fist down.
4. REPEAT with your opposite hand and continue the sets, 3 more times.
Add paint as needed.
OPTIONAL: If you would like to make a GARLAND, continue the steps on 3-5 more pages of same colored or opposite colored paper. Further instructions to follow.
We chose to work on one project together to create a black and white garland.
5. Add a stem to the clovers.
6. With a pencil write one or a combo of these phrases on the different pages:
I’m A Clever CLOVER
I’m Bright & CLOVER
We’re Bright & Clever CLOVERS
**We created 2 black pages with “I’m A Clever CLOVER”, 2 white pages with “I’m Bright & CLOVER” and 1 white page with “We’re Bright & Clever CLOVERS”, then alternated the pages when putting up the pages.
7. Paint the wording in the opposite color. IF you happen to have white & black markers you can use those instead.
(Naomi accidentally wrote clever the correct way on the white paper. We painted over it with white and then back over with a black “O”)
8. Let dry 15-20 min and then erase any visible pencil markings.
If you’d like to create our garland below, hang a string of twine and clip the clovers to it with clothespins.
That’s it!
Happy crafting!
Amanda and Naomi
