FUZZY Feelings: Pom Pom Card

Hi friends!

We’ve had a steady amount of rain and wind here in California, which is fine IF you get to stay inside. If you have to travel, shop, carpool, or do anything involving going outside, well, it’s not as fun. I did have to do a few of those this week and got poured on each time, but I also spotted a few rainbows and got to witness my first ever “rain split”. I was amazed at what was happening; from my garage door, I could look through our slider and see a sunny and rainy backyard, while the front was sunny and rain free! My husband teased by saying it was just an illusion. So, I had him follow me out to the very spot in the kitchen/garage which confirmed both rain and rainless areas. :)

The coziness of a big blanket, fluffy sweater, or warm hat & scarf during these cold/rainy days, got us thinking about a cute “Fuzzy Feelings” craft. It’s super easy, you don’t have to be a great artist (clearly, haha) and only takes a few supplies. Check it out below.

What You'll Need

  1. Heavy Weight White Construction Paper

  2. Glue

  3. Pom Poms

  4. Pencil

  5. Markers

    optional: Small Round Lid/Cup

The Steps

  1. Fold your paper in half to create a vertical card.

  2. Slightly fold your paper once again, into fourths.

DO NOT create a hard crease, it’s only to help split the sections you’ll be working with.

3. Draw a *face on the top half, leaving space for a hat/beanie.

4. Draw the hat/beanie.

*You may use a small cup/lid.

5. Draw the neck and shoulders on the lower half and the facial features.

6. With the markers trace over everything and color the hat if you’d like.

7. Figure out your pom pom colors/pattern, then glue to the neck area and one on the hat.

8. Let dry for 10 min.

11. While the pom poms dry, write in pencil and on the bottom area: “Wishing you lots of warm & fuzzy feelings this season!”, then trace over with the marker.

optional: erase all pencil markings

You can write a message inside to a family member, friend, neighbor, or teacher.

That’s it!

Gift idea: Include a scarf, a beanie, or both with the card.

Happy crafting!
