Hi friends,
Today’s Pipe Cleaner Winter Forest craft was inspired by the pine trees we saw on the Christmas tree farms recently and the beautiful snow we passed through on the Grapevine to/from Los Angeles. It’s simple to make and only requires a few supplies. Check it out below!

(1) Dark Brown Pipe Cleaner
(1) Light Brown Pipe Cleaner
(4-6) Green Pipe Cleaners
(4-6) Cotton Balls
Scissors
Strong Glue
The Steps
We’re on day 2 of December! I was just counting down the days until fall and now we’re prepping for ALL THINGS winter and Christmas.
My family LOVES Christmas as much, if not, more than fall. If my hubby and daughter had their way, they’d listen to holiday music all year, but they limit it for the rest of us.
I’ll even admit that our Christmas lights are still up from last year, but were not used too much outside of the appropriate time frame. lol We’ve hunted for the “perfect” Christmas tree, chopped it down, and quickly set it up in water, before heading out to Lost Angeles. The earlier and longer we can all celebrate the season, the better. = )
PREP
Decide if you would like a vertical or horizontal scene and turn your paper in that direction.
Pull/stretch the cotton balls and glue at the bottom. Make sure the bottom is completely covered.
3. Cut your brown pipe cleaners into varying lengths.
4. Add glue to where you’d like the trees and glue down the trunks.
Let it dry for 5 minutes
TREES
Decide which trees you’d like to make and cut the green pipe cleaners according to the tips below.
A) Straight- Cut 1 small piece for the top and gradually increase the length with each new cut. Add glue to the trunk and/or above the truck and press each piece down. (1/2 -1 pipe cleaner)
Tip: Holding the scissors or a ruler down on the pieces, will help keep them in place as they dry.
B) Curled- Cut 2 small identical pieces and gradually increase the length with each new set. Curl or bend the sets into a smile —-> )) <—— then glue each set on the outer edge of the trunk with the branches curling up. (1 pipe cleaner)
C) Random- Cut mostly small and medium sized pieces. Glue them a tad away from the trunk and in different directions or all up/down. (1/2 - 1 pipe cleaner)
Let dry 5-10 minutes
That’s it!
Here are a few photos from our drive :)
Happy crafting!
