Hi friends!
We’re days away from Thanksgiving, family/friend time and FOOD! Though I get a break from major cooking each Thanksgiving(which is a huge blessing), today’s craft is helpful for those that are and the littles who wait on them. It can be done in advance (like we have) and stored until needed. You don’t need anything special, just some fun snacks, cute tags and a bit of time to assemble.
You know what it’s like, the kids are hungry so they pop into the kitchen for a snack. Your hands are dirty or busy so you tell them to come back in a few… Well, this takes care of that! Just place them in a basket or bowl where your littles/guests will be and have one less worry. You can purchase prepacked items but sometimes the serving is too much, certain treats don’t come in individual packs or maybe you’d like to go all out and make some healthier alternatives. Either way, you win and they’re happy. Check it out below.

What You'll Need
For 32 Servings
(2) Orange Construction Papers
(2) Yellow Construction Papers
(16) Pipe Cleaners cut in half
Scissors
Pencil
Glue
(32) Ziploc Baggies or Treat Baggies
Markers
Hole Punch
TREATS: Your Choice
optional: 1/4 & 1/2 Measuring Cups
Snacks: L to R - Cheddar pretzels, Honey pretzels sticks, M&M’s, Honey Cheerios, Reese's Pieces, Granola bars(not shown).
The Steps
Fold your paper in half(short ends together).
Keep folding until you have 16 squares. Repeat with the other sheets.
3. Draw 1 leaf on each page.
4. Carefully hold folded paper and cut out leaf.
The sheet will produce 16 leaves per page; 32 yellow, 32 orange.
5. Glue 1 orange and 1 yellow leaf together, repeat.
Make sure they overlap enough so that the hole punch will go through both colors.
6. With the markers write in the messages below or some of your own choosing.
You get to decide how many of each item to tag/bag. We chose to do a lesser amount of granola than the other snacks.
CHEERFUL Cheerios
GRATEFUL Granola
CELEBRATED Candy
PLEASED Pretzels
7. If you haven’t already, cut each pipe cleaner in half.
8. Cut the seal part of the bag (doesn’t apply if you’re using treat bags)
9. Punch a hole through each leaf tag, where both colors meet.
Now you get to assemble!
We added 1 granola bar, 6 pretzel sticks, 10 cheddar pretzels, 1/4 cup candies, and 1/2 cup of Cheerios to the baggies. We then twisted it shut and wrapped a pipe cleaner a bit before adding the appropriate tag.
That’s it!
We created a few extra with no tags just pipe cleaners too.
These snacks and the crafting supplies I have set aside, are going to be a wonderful way for us to contribute and help the littles who have to wait for hours before dinner is served!
Hoping you have a great holiday with lots of food and laughter.
Happy crafting and Happy Thanksgiving!
Amanda and Naomi
