GARFIELD

Hi friends,

Check out our 19.5-inch tall Garfield, complete with a sleepy face, full belly, and curved tail.

Last week we shared how to make the face and combined it with this week’s craft. It’s not in the pale orange that Garfield’s fur is, but it still works. Check out Garfield below.

What You'll Need

  1. (2) Light Orange Construction Papers

  2. Pencil

  3. Black & Brown Colored Pencils

  4. Orange *Pen

  5. Scissors

  6. Glue

  7. Large Bowl

  8. Garfield Face

*a black pen is not needed

The Steps

BODY

  1. Turn your first paper vertically, place the bowl down slightly overlapping the paper, and trace the bottom and each side.

BODY

2. Bring up the sides and draw wide shoulders and crossed arms.

3. Draw two narrow, curved legs and two wide feet.

DETAILS

  1. Trace the body with the orange pen and erase any pencil marking.

  2. Use the brown pencil to color the shadows under the arms and legs, then use the black pencil to add the stripes on each side of the stomach.

TAIL

  1. Turn your 2nd paper vertically, fold it in half, and then draw a long curved tail.

  2. Trace the tail with the orange pen and color in the black markings.

ASSEMBLE

  1. Cut out the body, tail, and last week’s face.

  2. Glue the tail to the back and the face to the front. Trim the chin if necessary to fit the body properly.

    That’s it!

Happy crafting
