Hi friends,
Today we have adorable, tiny, spinning señorita dresses that work like a top.
It’s our version of the Mexican folk dancers, where the señoritas (girls/young women) spin and sway their large beautiful skirts. With a wide skirt, these unique and highly enjoyable spinning señoritas will balance long enough to get a few good spins. Check out our spinning señoritas below.

What You'll Need
(2) Construction Papers any color
Recycled Water Bottle
Tacky Glue
Pens/Markers
Scissors
(1) Bead
(2 ft.) Yarn/String
(1) Rubberband
Optional: Pencil
The Steps
PREP
Make sure the bottom of the bottle is not lopsided, then glue the bead to the center. Leave upside down to dry. We made a few señoritas
Turn both papers vertically, fold them in half, and cut them at the fold. You’ll only need 1 half of each color.
Since we made a few señoritas, we used the extra pieces for the other bottles.
BLOUSE A
Choose a strip of paper, fold the sides in 3/4 inch, then fold it in half.
Cut out a *curvy neck opening at the fold big enough to fit the lid through, then tuck in the sleeves slightly.
*Or create an opening of choice.
BLOUSE B
This is another option, it is not the dark blue paper reserved for the skirt.
Repeat step 1 above, then draw and cut out a circle opening.
Untuck the sides of the blouse and fold the outer corners toward the crease, then backward to the crease on the back(sleeves).
Spread open the sleeves and tuck them in. Optional: Glue the fold together.
BLOUSE DESIGN
Use the markers/pens to add flowers, leaves, or other designs around the neck and sleeves.
a. Repeat on the opposite side.
About 1 inch down from the shoulder cut a slit into the blouse, stopping at the crease. Repeat on the other side.
Carefully place the blouse over the bottle, with the sides overlapping, then slide the rubberband from the bottom up to hold it together. Lay the rubberband flat.
SKIRT
Use the blue strip of paper or any color and fold it in half.
a. Draw a decorative hem starting from the fold and curved up to the open side, then a rounded top area.
b. Cut out the skirt.
Open up the skirt and add decorative designs
Wrap the skirt however you choose: crease in the front, back, or side.
a . Angle the crease of the skirt higher up on the body and the flaps of the skirt angled down towards the bottom of the bottle, then place the rubberband over it. DO NOT wrap the skirt tightly around the bottle.
BELT
Wrap the yarn belt around the waist, fully covering the rubber band, and tie it together securely.
SKIRT
4. Flare out the overlapping hems, stand the bottle up, and ensure a bit of the hem touches the surface to help balance it
That’s it!
Now get to spinning!
Happy crafting
