Hi friends,
We’re back with our Kung Fu Panda 4 theme and sharing how we made Zhen’s face.
Zhen is a clever fox and a former thief turned hero, under Po’s training/mentoring. This week we share part one of her character: her face. Next week we’ll share part two: her body, to complete her character. Check out our Kung Fu Panda: Zhen face below.

What You'll Need
(1) Black, (1) Green, (1) White, & (2) Gray Construction Papers
Cereal Bowl
Scissors
Pencil
Black, Grey, Lt. Brown Pencils
Glue
OPTIONAL: Turquoise Colored Pencil
The Steps
HEAD
Turn 1 gray sheet horizontally and fold(wide), then turn the 2nd gray sheet vertically and fold(narrow); glue the insides shut.
Center your bowl over the wide gray paper and trace the top to create an arc.
Flare the sides of the arc out to the edges of the paper(peaks), connect the peaks to a rounded-flat bottom, and then cut it out. Toss the scraps.
*If you save your scraps from the ears, you can use them next week for the hands & feet.
EARS
Turn the narrow gray paper horizontally, fold it over 2.5 inches, draw a pointy ear, and then cut both ears out*
FACE
Turn your white paper vertically, center the head on the bottom edge of the paper, and trace the bottom and part of the sides.
a) Fold your paper in half (narrow)- about 1 inch up from the fold, 1/2 inch in from the fold, and 3 inches high draw the nose bridge.
b) Create a narrow curve at the top of the 3-inch high section(eye area), then connect it to the outer line with a slight curve(cheek).
Cut out the white face and glue it onto the gray head.
FEATURES
Use the leftover white paper to draw an eye:
a) Trace the glue stick(iris), trace the colored pencil(pupil), and then draw a wide upturned eye.
b) Draw the inner pointed portion of the ears.
Cut everything out, repeat the eye drawing on the 2nd eye, and color both in.
Glue the ear pieces together and then onto the head.
Use the black paper to make 2-inch eyebrows, 1 pointy & 1 wide, then a 1-inch wide nose.
Glue the upturned eyes near the bridge/cheek, the eyebrows right above( pointy one slightly higher), and the nose.
Use the gray pencil to draw the mouth and whiskers.
DETAILS
Color in the ears with the gray pencil and outline the white section of the face.
Cut tiny hair strands on the outer gray peaks of the face.
Fold over your green paper 1/2 inch, draw a decorative jade cuff, and cut it out.
a) Optional: to age the jade color it with a turquoise pencil.
b) Glue the jade cuff onto the left ear.
That’s it!
Join us next week for Zhen’s body and completed character.
Check out Kung Fu Panda Po and Master Shifu too!
Happy crafting
