SANTA GNOME

Hi friends,

We’re sharing our adorably plump Santa gnomes, inspired by the ceramic gnomes we saw recently.

Ours lay flat, are perfect as place settings or wall art, and can be glued to recycled cardboard tubes for upright Santas. As a festive addition, add a pine sprig, aka mini Christmas tree, to the back. Check out the details below.

PREP

  1. Turn your red paper horizontally, fold it in half, and cut it into two pieces. IF making 2 Santas, do not cut in half.

  2. Draw a large teardrop with a curved top, add some arms to the side, and then cut it out.

  3. With the red (or black)scraps make shoes and black cuffs from the black paper.

FACE

  1. Fold the white paper in half, and draw a curvy hat brim and a long curved beard.

  2. On the side of the beard, draw a round nose and cut everything out.

  3. Color the nose in.

ASSEMBLE

  1. Glue the bead, beard, nose, cuffs, and shoes. Aleene’s is thicker and holds the bead better.

    That’s it!

Place Setting: write the guest’s name on the hat.

Standing Gnome: use Aleene’s to glue a tube to the back. Optionally, stabilize the tube by placing a rock inside, and filling it with a pine sprig or Christmas floral pick.

Happy crafting
