Hope Hero Puppets

Hi friends,

We’re sharing an easy puppet craft featuring our Hope Kids! This weekend we had the privilege of joining Keaton’s Child Cancer Alliance, for their 25th Spring Family Fun Day. We saw beautiful families smiling, enjoying the food & festivities, and visiting the different craft stations. We got to share our hope hero puppets with the kiddos and now we’re sharing them with you! Let your kiddos design their superhero selves, then think up superhero names and abilities!

What You'll Need

  1. Girl or Boy Printout on Cardstock

  2. Scissors

  3. Colored Pencils, Markers, or Crayons

  4. Craft Sticks

  5. Hot Glue

Optional: IF printing on white paper, glue an extra sheet of paper or construction paper, to the back for reinforcement.

The Steps

CARDSTOCK

  1. Cut out the hero kid.

  2. Hot glue the craft stick to the back or color it first, then glue it on.

We chose to glue the stick first and then color it.

    CRAFT PAPER

    1. Cut out the hero kid.

    2. Hot glue the craft stick to the back or color it first, then glue it on.

3. Color your hero kid.

Optional: Add a superhero name to the cape and have them tell you what their superpower is.

That’s it!

The littles joined us!

Micah became Super Gecko- he fights crime with his long gecko tongue.

Matthias was Super Soda Boy- he couldn’t come up with a superpower, so I suggested fighting illness with bubbly soda.

Naomi was Aqua Girl- She helps sea life and carries fresh water in her cape to people who need it.

Mom was Tie Dye Mama- I bring color and celebration to kids who are sad.

We had fun making these and coming up with our powers. For an added bonus, the littles got to wear capes and masks for some role playing.

Happy crafting!

Amanda and Naomi
