Hi friends,
We’re fast approaching the last days of school. It’s always a sentimental time for many(ME) as it means time is passing and the kids are growing up. I want to believe that teachers feel the same to some extent; the little people they’ve come to know and grow will be moving on and repeating the process somewhere else.
Today’s craft is a personalized Thank You and Goodbye to your child’s teacher. Your child’s handprint is featured on the front and the inside provides writing prompts for your child, a space for a photo/drawing, and if you choose to, a place to leave the teacher a note on the back. Check out our sweet high five cards below.

The Steps
*As a bonus, create a second card to keep as a memento. On the back write details about your child’s year and fun facts about them, that you both can look back on.
Fold the construction paper and the printout sheets in half.
Cut the printouts along the folded line.
Glue the halves of sheet 1 to the front and back of the folded construction paper.
Glue the halves of sheet 2 on the inside.
5. Have your child write down their grade, teacher’s name, and the year on the front. Then have them answer the questions on the inside, write their name down, draw a picture, and/or glue a photo of them.
Parents can write a small note of appreciation on the back of the card.
6. Apply paint to your child’s hand with the brush and carefully center over the front of the card, before pressing down firmly.
7. Let the paint dry 5- 10 minutes, then pair with a small token of appreciation for your child’s teacher.
That’s it!
We’ll be giving one card to the teacher and keeping one for Micah’s memento/school box.
Happy crafting!
Amanda and Naomi
