"To The Moon and Back" Valentine Card

Hi friends,

We’re here today with a cute and simple Valentine’s day card. It’s the first of 3 card crafts we have planned and the first of 2 which feature this large heart. Today’s heart can be colored any color, the open parts of the letters can be filled, and beads, sequins, or even cheerios can be used for the path leading to the moon and back!

It’s perfect for bigger kids or little ones(swap glue type) to show how much they care for their friends or family members. If you don’t have access to a printer, we’ll share a simple way to get a similar craft done. Check out our simple craft and printable below.

What You'll Need

  1. Printable

  2. Colored Pencils/Crayons

  3. Glue

  4. Beads

The Steps

  1. Fold your printable.

  2. Color the front of the card any color. Optional: fill in the open spaces in the letters.

  3. If you plan to write your message on both sides of the inside, do that before adding the beads to the front.

    No Printer? Make these instead!

1 white paper, color pencils/crayons for the heart & moon, 1 marker for the wording,

beads/sequins/items to glue onto the paper, and glue.

    1. Fold your paper in half.

    2. Draw a heart, face, arms, hands, legs, and feet/shoes, on the upper half of the paper.

    3. Further down draw a moon to the lower left.

    4. Write your “I” to the upper left of the heart,

      you” under the heart,

and “to the moon and back” to the right of the moon”, leaving space from the heart to the moon for the trail. Optional: fill in the open spaces in the letters.

    5. If you plan to write your message on both sides of the inside, do that before adding the beads to the front.

For beads, follow the steps below.

4. Use as many small beads, sequins, or other items, to create the path from the right side of the heart to the moon.

5. Hot glue is the quickest, but with little hands, liquid glue would be safest. If using liquid glue, add a thicker trail. Let it dry for about 30 minutes.

That’s it!

We colored our moons yellow, but it’s hard to see it.

Aren’t these cute? They took very little time to make them.

Unlike our photos, sometimes they take a few tries. Patches our 5yr old pit/lab mix will see us, get excited, want to play, and/or photobomb us lol.

Happy crafting!
