Hi friends,
Today we have a simple Cinco de Mayo-inspired craft made with cute, little floral dresses.
You can customize these as much as you want! Then hang them up with clothespins for a clothesline full of mini Mexican floral dresses😄. Check out our dresses below.
What You'll Need
(7) Construction Papers
Red, White & Green Felt
Glue
Pencil
Scissors
Yarn
Ruler
The Steps
PREP
Turn your paper vertically, line up the corners at the top, and create a tiny crease on the center fold.
Open up the paper, take each side, bring it to the center crease, and create a tiny crease on the left and right sides. These will be the guides for drawing the top of the dress.
Bring up the bottom of the paper, line it up with the top, and create a tiny crease on the center fold.
4. Draw a wide M at the top of the dress using the ruler. The peaks should line up with the creases.
5. Draw the upper sides of the dress, starting from the edge of the M toward the right/left and center creases. Repeat on the opposite side.
6. Now continue that outer line of the dress down to the right/left side corner. Repeat on the opposite side.
7. Cut out the *first dress and use it as a guide for the consecutive dresses.
8. Cut out the dresses.
DECORATE
. Cut some yarn to line the V-neck or enough to go all around and glue.
Fold strips of felt into squares and cut out imperfect flowers in circular shapes. Repeat in all three colors and as many as you would like.
Glue the flowers to the V-neck in any order/pattern. You may add flowers to the waist or hem instead of the neck area.
HANG
Cut string/yarn, tie to the desired area, and then clip the dresses on.
That’s it!
Happy crafting!
