Hi friends,
This is our first craft of 2021! Today we have cute and lovable characters from the Bluey cartoon; sisters Bluey and Bingo, and their cousin Chloe. My littles came to mind when I thought of this craft. They started watching Bluey a while back and like the main characters, are siblings and close in age.
I’d never sat through a full episode, only catching a couple of minutes here and there. A few days back that happened again, this time the kiddos were outside playing, the toys were scattered on the LR floor, and the tv left on with Bluey playing. I was about to turn it off and clean up when something caught my attention in the last few minutes of “Rug Island”- Bluey and Bingo were trying to teach their dad their make-believe game. No biggie right? NOPE. I was totally tuned in and teary-eyed at the end. If a 2-3 minute clip can do that, I’m sold lol Check out our Bluey characters below!

Scissors
Pencil
Craft Paint (blue, black, white, orange, peach, tan)

Optional: Newspaper
The Steps
IF you have 3 different tint/shades of blue(we didn’t) skip step 1.
1. Squirt your blue in three spots on your plate and add a tad of black to 1, a tad of white to another, and more white to the last one & mix with the ends of the brush.
2. Paint your Bluey roll in the medium blue color, set aside.
3. Cut a 1-inch slice into the bottom of 1 roll and tuck in the edge inside the roll.
IF you have 3 different tint/shades of orange(we did but not the correct ones) skip step 4.
4. Squirt your orange in three spots on your plate and add a tad of black to 1, a tad of white to another, and more white/tan to the last one & mix with the ends of the brush.
5. Paint your Bingo roll (shorter roll)in the medium orange color, set aside.
6. Paint your Chloe roll in white, set aside.
7. Use the lightest colors for Bluey/Bingo to paint their tummy patch.
8. Use the darkest colors for each and paint the large patches around the eye area.
9. (Not shown) Add black spots to the sides and lower end of the Chloe roll.
10. Fold over 1-inch of the heavyweight paper and draw 2 triangle ears and 1 rounded triangle shape (3 pairs total).
11. Cut out the ears, painting each set- Bluey (triangle, dark blue + tan), Bingo (triangle, dark orange + medium orange), and Chloe (rounded triangle, black dots)
12. Paint the facial features of each character:
Bluey- 1 white oval over each dark orange patch, 2 light blue eyebrows, and 1-2 dark blue spots on the sides. Go back to the eyes, paint 2 black iris, and outline the whites. With the tan make a squarish snout, outline the snout in black, create a smile, and nose. Use the lightest blue to paint between the eyes, right up to the snout.
Bingo- 1 white oval over each dark blue patch, 2 light orange/tan eyebrows, and 1-2 dark orange spots on the sides. Go back to the eyes, paint 2 black iris, and outline the whites. With the light color make a squarish snout, outline the snout in dark orange, create a smile, and nose.
Chloe- Paint 2 black ovals near the top and 2 iris. Use the black to create eyebrows. Make a squarish snout, nose, and smile with black.
13. Paint each of their names on their tummies: Bluey, Bingo, Chloe
or how they’re often spelled: BLUEy, BInGO, CHLOe
14. Lastly, glue on Bluey and Bingo’s ears to the top and Chloe’s ears on the side of her face.
That’s it!
My littles and their new “toys” = )
Happy crafting!
