Spring Blooms

Hi Friends,

How was your Easter? We had a great day and were extremely thankful for warm weather and clear skies, perfect for hiding eggs out back. We used two forms of reward: 1st- a larger gold “Prize Egg” containing $5; 2nd- a “Dinner Of Choice” for the highest points, using the sheet from last week. For the older kids, this was the motivator to get them moving and putting in real effort, lol. It turns out our eldest won both prizes :) We’ve had so much fun using these methods over the last few years(point cards can be found in stores too), that we continue to. We then tuck everything away for the following year.

But what if you still want to use your eggs? I know we will, Micah wants to do an inside hunt next. What if you’re not ready to give up on the cute colored plastic things either? Today we’re bringing you this cute SPRING aka “spregg” BLOOMS activity that lets you play with your eggs a little longer, check it out below!

What You'll Need

  1. (1)White Construction Paper

  2. (6) Sheets Colored Construction Paper (1/4 sheet per egg)

  3. (6) Easter Eggs

  4. (1) Large & (1) Small Mug

  5. Glue Gun

  6. Scissors

  7. Pencil

    Optional: Markers

The Steps

  1. Separate your eggs. You may use 6 of the same color.

2. Take 1 sheet of paper, fold in half, and cut.

3. Fold the half and cut. You’ll be needing 1/4 sheet per egg.

4. Continue with the rest of the paper.

5. Take 1 sheet, 1 mug, and trace. You can alternate the mugs.

6. Take 1 egg half, center it inside the drawn circle, and trace.

This will be your guide for the petals.

7. Continue with the remaining sheets.

8. Draw various shapes of petals, on the outer ring.

9. Cut out the edge and between petals.

A few more examples: Pink flower with tiny cuts all around, Orange flower with heart shape petals.

10. Glue 1/2 egg to each of your petals. You can coordinate the colors or swap them.

11. Arrange your flowers on the paper, leaving room for the wording SPRING BLOOMS (you can write that in now or after) and then glue down.

If you haven’t already, write “SPRING BLOOMS” in pencil and follow with a marker.

That’s it!

This is a great craft for anytime of the year!

Happy crafting from our family to yours.

Amanda and Naomi
