Hi friends,
I am loving all things fall and am so ready for sweaters, soup, and warm desserts = ) We’ve got our fall decor inside, fall EO scents ruminating through the house, and our fall decor outside, including this gorgeously colored garland.
I don’t want to pay an excessive amount for anything, especially if it’s in the elements. I also don’t want to sacrifice style, so here’s my solution to that! This outdoor fall garland was assembled with Dollar Tree bushes, a few from last year’s Hobby Lobby clearance, and clippings from our olive tree. Check it out below.

What You'll Need
Variety of Artificial Bushes I used about 24
Tree/Plant Clippings
Rope
Scissors
Floral Wire
Optional: Fall Picks, Artificial Flowers
The Steps
I kept all the bushes intact minus the soft green ones, those I separated.
Cut lots of wire for assembling the garland and set it aside.
Cut the length of rope you’d like to use and make loops on the ends.
Find your middle point and twist a bit of wire there.
Lay out your bushes/clippings how you’d like them displayed, grouping and overlapping them a bit. I did my best to keep both sides similar. You can work from one end to the other or from both ends, switching between the two.
5. Stretch out your rope and begin wiring your groupings to it. Overlapping the bushes helps conceal the bush stems and the wiring.
The orange berries and variegated leaves are from Hobby Lobby(shown on the right).
6. Continue adding bushes/clippings until you get to the middle section, where both sides will meet. You can fill it in completely or leave a small separation as I did.
7. Go back over the whole garland, adjust as necessary, and add smaller clippings/picks to it.
8. Hang it up outside, use it inside on a mantle, or on a table.
That’s it!
I love how it turned out. If you make one, share it with us.
Happy crafting!
