Hi friends,
We’re continuing the carnival/circus theme this week with the Main Event Dad’s Day Card, a fun craft to showcase that special dad! A portrait of Dad is front and center and a striped big top tent is in the back. One popcorn sack provides two tents and a third in a 3D option. Check it out below!

What You'll Need
White Construction Paper
Popcorn Sack
Scrap Paper 5 1/4 in. x 3 1/2 in.
Pencil
Scissors
Glue
Colored Pencils/Markers
Optional: Star Stickers
The Steps
CARD
Turn your white paper horizontally and fold it in half.
BIG TOP TENT
Fold your scrap paper in half (should be the width of your bag prior to folding), draw 3 peaks starting from the fold, then draw a curved rectangle opening from the fold about 1-1.5 inches wide.
Cut out the tent from scrap paper and open it up.
If more than one card is needed, the sack will provide (1) 3D tent and (2) flat/2D tents. Adjust the quantity of white paper to your needs.
3.(1) 3D TENT:
a) Keep the sack folded, flip over to the back side with the rectangle bottom, and facing upside down.
b)Place the tip of the tent on the top straight edge, the bottom will be facing down towards the jagged edge, then trace the tent and cut through all the layers (do not separate).
Optional: use decorative edge scissors or create your own design on the bottom of the tent.
2D TENT:
a)Open the popcorn sack, flatten the sack with the stripes in the middle and the wording on the sides, and flip upside down so the jagged edge is down.
b) Place the tent right over the jagged ends, trace it, and carefully cut through both layers.
CARD
2. Glue the striped tent about 1 inch down. The 3D version only needs the bottom layer glued.
DETAILS
Draw a waving flag/s, a sun, sky, and stars( or stickers) right above the peaks.
Draw Dad in the center with his head and upper body between the tent opening and the rest of his body below.
3. Under Dad, write and trace with a colored pencil/marker:
DAD, YOU’RE THE
MAIN EVENT!
4. Color in Dad and add any other details you’d like.
