Hi friends,
We’re jumping into the new year with an easy clock-inspired banner! We’ll share a fun way to include your family in the craft and then count down together, as you mark off the hours! Choose a narrow version like ours or make yours much larger. Check out our NYE countdown banner below!

What You'll Need
Craft Paper Roll
Scissors
Round Sponge per person
Craft Paints & Brushes
Pencil
Optional: Markers/Gel Pen
The Steps
Cut your paper into 2 narrow strips or 1 strip in the width/length you prefer.
Apply paint onto your sponges with the brush so you don’t waste paint. You can also trace a large mug and sponge on the paint with a regular sponge.
Allow your family to press down anywhere they choose but allow space for the wording.
Repeat the steps with the same color or use the opposite side with a different one. Then wash the sponge thoroughly before *repeating.
*Make enough clocks for your countdown, whether your countdown is from 7 pm - 12 am or a bedtime version: 3 pm - 8 pm for little ones.
5. While the paint dries, write “Happy New Year!”, in pencil.
6. Use paint or markers over the pencil.
7. When the clock faces are dry, allow your family to add 12 dots to the clock faces with paint or markers.
CHOOSE the numbered hour, clock hands, or a combo of both until you reach your endpoint. It’s ok if there are multiples made, as long as there’s 1 clock to represent each of the necessary hours.
8. As each hour approaches, have the kids cross off the specific time clock until you reach the new year!
That’s it!

Naomi’s poster had clocks from 5 pm - 8 pm.

My poster had the remaining hours, 9 pm - 12 am.
All we have to do now is put them where the littles can reach and have them cross out each clock with their own marker.
Happy crafting!
