Hi friends,
School is JUST ABOUT OVER. I don’t even know how it flew by but it’s nearing the end. Before that happens, Memorial Day will be here. Today’s craft offers an easy garland for your Memorial Day decor and a printable for coloring if you choose to do that instead or along with it. Another option would be to print at least 8 of these pages, have your littles color the stars before cutting them out, and then gluing them onto a string, to create the garland. Naomi and I made the garland with construction paper, while the littles got to enjoy simple coloring. Check it out below!

What You'll Need
(1) Black, Green, & Orange Construction Papers
(2) Red, White, & Blue Construction Papers
(2) Memorial Day Printouts
Scissors
Pencil
Glue Stick & Hot Glue
Yarn/String
Optional: Colored Pencils
The Steps
Cut out the stars and wording from the 1st sheet and just the large star from the 2nd sheet.
Glue your blue, white, and red papers together to make them sturdier.
3. Trace the 2 large stars onto the blue, red, and white sheets and then a *few of the smaller ones too.
*We used (3) sm. blue stars, (5) sm. red stars, and (3) sm. white stars, you can use more/less.
4. Fold the black, green, & orange papers in half and glue the halves together.
5. Fold the black, green, & orange sheets in half again and trace 1-2 small stars, this will double the stars with less effort.
*We used (2) sm. black, green, & orange stars, you can use more/less.
6. Cut out the large stars (6) and the smaller ones (17).
7. Glue smaller stars onto the larger stars.
8. Overlap the 2 large white, black-bordered stars and glue them together.
9. Glue the lettering onto the star, color it in, and the lettering or either one.
10. Lastly, cut 7- 9ft of yarn/string, center the black-bordered star before gluing it and the other stars.
That’s it!
Happy crafting!
Amanda and Naomi
