Hi friends,
We just experienced our very first storm of the season. We had lots of wind, rain, and areas of flooding. Because our backyard has slopes, rainwater, and all of our neighbors as well, runs into the bottom flat area of the yard and creates a seasonal stream/pond. The littles see that as an invitation to puddle jump and ask to go outside. We compromise by requiring them to change into warm outdoor play clothes, bundle up with thick jackets, cozy hats, and slip on their rainboots. If they’re willing to do all that, we, against our better judgment, let them splash a “bit”. LOL
With all the rain in sight, we decided to do a fun, ombre, raindrop activity with colored paper and glue. Check out our easy rainy day craft below!

What You'll Need
White, Tan/Gray, Dk. Blue, & Lt. Blue Paper(ours was folded, do not fold)
Scissors
Pencil
Blue & Grey Markers
Glue
Small Bowl
Optional: Ruler, Glitter
The Steps
Place the bowl on the lower part of the blue paper(not white as shown) and trace the lower half of the bowl.
Move the bowl and draw the sides up to the top center (use a ruler for straighter lines).
3. Cut the blue raindrop out.
4. Use the raindrop to draw a raindrop onto the white paper.
5. Use the raindrop over the light blue paper and trace the upper 2/3 of the raindrop, then move it aside and create a wavy bottom.
6. Repeat the same steps over the tan/grey paper, tracing the upper 1/3 of the paper.
7. Cut the light blue and tan/grey parts out and glue in order: Dark blue over the white raindrop, light blue next, and tan/grey last.
8. Outline the whole raindrop in grey, add the face in blue, and lastly, write: RAINY DAY LET’S SPLASH AND PLAY!
That’s it!
If you’d like to use glitter, you can add it according to color.
