Hi Friends,
I have to tell you I fulfilled last week’s goal of displaying my own old fashioned Christmas candy! = ) It was a comforting reminder of my Grama B and a colorful treat for everyone (me)to enjoy. If you’ve never had any, the candies are varied so you get different flavors!
This week we’re displaying our cute buttony snowmen! When we made these it was super chilly outside, it kind of felt like we were making real snowmen, minus the cold hands and puffy winter wear. lol These take a few more items to make than our other crafts but come together quickly. You can use felt, fabric scraps or outgrown clothing to make the scarves and any size of buttons. These are easily made in the comfort of your home, no need for winter clothes or freezing hands. Check them out below.

Small Cup + 4 TPSP H2O
Glue Gun
Liquid Glue
(48 in.) Felt/Fabric 24 in. per
(1/2 C) Potato Flakes + Bowl

The Steps
Hot glue the edges of 2 plates together. Repeat and set aside.
2. Fold the black paper in half.
3. Draw your snowman hat and cut out, separating the 2.
4. Turn the snowmen over and hot glue the hats(straight or slightly tipped) to the upper part.
5. You can mix glitter in the bowl, leave out, or add after the flakes.
6. Mix plenty of glue to your water, it should be thinned out but not watery.
7. Lay your cover down and brush the glue onto all the white parts.
8. Sprinkle the flakes and glitter on. Tap off excess.
9. Cut the pipe cleaners in half.
10. Carrot nose: fold back 1 inch of the orange pipe cleaner and continue zig-zagging into smaller folds.
11. Carefully hot glue the button eyes, nose, rosy cheeks, and *smile.
*We made squiggly and rounded smiles.
12. Fold the fabric and cut a 10-12 in. x 1-inch strip, times 2. Cut the 2 unattached ends into (4) 1-inch strips.
Or fold your felt over 1 in. and cut 10 -12 inches. Cut along the attached edge and then hot glue 2 ends. Cut the 2 unattached ends into (4) 1-inch strips.
13. Wrap the fabric/felt around the snowman’s neck like a scarf, tie, or bow.
That’s it!
You can pin up or hang- punch a hole in the plate, behind the had. Add a string to hang.
Here they are! We varied the noses, smiles, and neck wraps.
And for fun, my old fashioned Christmas candy!
Happy crafting,
Amanda and Naomi
